Roy is survived by his son David Henderson (Jean); and his daughter Alice Stokely (Chad); his brother William Dozier (Betty) and his sister Gladys Meggs (Noel); his grandson Don Henderson.
Roy was preceded in death by his 1st wife Stella Dozier; his father Linwood Griggs Dozier and his mother Margaret Harris; his brother Willie Dozier (Joyce).
Roy was Born and raised in Camden County, NC. He served in the Merchant Marines, U.S. Army and U.S. Coast Guard, before finally retiring from the U.S Government as a Navy Instructor. Roy enjoyed many hobbies in his retirement such as boating, golfing, fishing, woodworking and spending time with family. He was an active and dedicated member of Miles Memorial United Methodist Church.
A Memorial service for Roy will be held Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Miles Memorial United Methodist Church, 9450 Granby St, Norfolk, VA 23503.
Reception to follow immediately after the memorial service.
A Graveside service will occur Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, 6309 E. Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, VA 23502.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Miles Memorial United Methodist Church.
