Shirley Williams Hardy

Shirley W. Hardy, 90, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. She was born in Pitt County, NC to the late Henry and Zula Stocks Williams. Besides her parents she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband Raymond Allen Hardy; her son James Ray Hardy; her son in law, Lance Kerslake; her sister, Mary Lou Hardee; and her brothers, Curtis Williams, Tony Williams, and Billy Williams. Shirley enjoyed bowling, board games, and family dinners. Shirley was a beautician and a physical education assistant teacher at Green Run Elementary. She was a member of Eastminister Presbyterian church for over 40 years.

Left to cherish her memories are her loving children, Barry Hardy, Susan Kerslake; her granddaughter, Kayla Kerslake; her sister, Carolyn Edwards; as well as many nieces and nephews. The family would like to give special thanks to her medical team, and caregivers, Christy Smart, Fran Petrey, and Sam Knight.

The family is inviting friends to pay respects Friday, February 28, 2025 from 5-7pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd. Norfolk. A service to celebrate her life will be held at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 3229 Macdonald Rd, Virginia Beach, on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 2pm.

The family is welcoming North Carolina guests to pay respects, Sunday, March 2, 2025 from 5-7pm at Wilkerson Funeral Home, 2100 E 5th St #3001, Greenville, NC. A graveside service will be held Monday, March 3, 2025 at 11am in Pinewood Memorial Park, 4150 E. 10th St. Greenville, NC.
