Toni Chang Yu Taylor, 84, beloved wife of the late George Raymond Taylor, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Commonwealth Assisted Living at Hampton, Virginia, with her family members by her side. She formerly lived in Norfolk and was born on May 4, 1930 in Shanghai, China. She was the daughter of the late Ton Sen Ling (father) and Zhou Cai Yuan (mother). Toni was a talented lady, fluently speaking 4 languages. She dearly loved and enjoyed taking care of her family. She spent much of her time cooking scrumptious meals for family and anyone that visited her home and was especially famous for her "garbage eggrolls" that she created from scratch, at least a hundred at a time. If she weren’t cooking, you'd probably find her sewing, tending her garden or laughing with her friends. She is survived by four children: Wang Hao Ming and wife Xiao Lan of Newport News; Wang Mei Juan of Wuxi, China; Margaret T. Brown and husband Donald of Newport News; and George R. Taylor Jr. and wife Susan of Jupiter, Florida; seven grandchildren: Zhang Yi Min (Deslie), Jiang Yi Fen (Sabrina), Wang Jing (Amy), Virginia Schubert, Stephanie Brown, Ian Taylor, and Matthew Taylor; and three great grandchildren, Amaya Cao Wang, Zhang Yi Qing (Elena), and Desmond Schubert. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 31, 2014, at 2:00 pm at Woodlawn Funeral home Chapel, 6329 E Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, Virginia. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.woodlawngroup.com. Arrangements were made by Woodlawn Funeral Home, Norfolk, Virginia.
