Mrs. Violet Chapman Shank

Violet Chapman Shank, 81, passed away on January 10, 2021. She was born in Cumberland County, Virginia to the late Robert and Annie Chapman. She retired from Life Touch Studios. Violet was a long time member of the South Norfolk Moose Lodge. She was a very giving person; always making sure everyone was fed. Violet was a loving and devoted mother; always checking on her family. She loved to travel and was ready to go at a moment’s notice. Violet was predeceased by 5 brothers and 1 grandchild.

Left to cherish her memory are 2 daughters, Cindy Sherman (Bob) and Connie Dawley; 2 sons, Tim Shank and Jody Shank; sister Lois Plyler (Perry); 9 grandchildren; 13.5 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 17, 2021, from 2-6:00 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 18, 2021 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
