

Allan Frederick Tatge was born on September 26, 1938 in Hobart, Oklahoma, the son of Clara V. (Biggs) and Lester L. Tatge. He died peacefully at home in Norman on May 12, 2023 at the age of 84 surrounded by his family. During the early years of his life, he also lived in in Mooreland, Oklahoma and Renton, Washington. Eventually, his family moved to Norman.
Allan graduated from Norman High School and the University of Oklahoma, earning a degree in industrial engineering. After graduating, he was hired by Boeing in Seattle, WA. Missing the beautiful skies of Oklahoma, he moved back to the state to earn a master’s degree in industrial management engineering at OU. He then went to work at Tinker Air Force Base, where he spent most of his career as a price analyst.
Allan married Cherie Burns in 1965 and they had two daughters. He was an avid OU sports fan, especially football and softball, and also loved technology and scuba diving. He will be remembered for his wry sense of humor, gentle temperament and dedication to his family.
He is survived by his wife Cherie; children Larisa Tatge (Marceli Sugranes) and Valorie Tatge; and grandchildren Alex and Sofia Sugranes. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Vivian Tenney and brother Terry Tatge. Interment will be at the columbarium of the First Christian Church of Norman.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
