Bennie Lee Miller, 89, passed away November 18, 2022, at her home in Bixby, OK surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Ellis and Lucille Myers on May 16, 1933, in Byng, Oklahoma. As the first-born child and only daughter she was the apple of her father’s eye and a great helper to her mother. She was a loving older sister to two brothers, Jimmy and Dennis. She graduated from Byng High School in 1951. She married and had two daughters in quick succession, Pamala Kay in 1953 and Debra Lynn fourteen months later. She later married Clifford Miller and the two enjoyed many years together in the Norman area until his death in 2007.
Bennie loved the Lord and played piano in several churches throughout the years. She especially loved playing old church hymns. She was a masterful refinisher of antique furniture and collector of all things old. She rarely sat still and once even walked several miles with a collapsed lung. Perhaps her greatest adventure was being a grandmother and she did it with much grace and joy. She will be remembered as loving and devoted and quick with a chocolate treat, the store-bought kind though because she did not love to cook.
She is preceded in death by her husband Cliff, parents Ellis and Lucille, brother Jimmy and nephew Joe. She is survived by her daughters Pam (Mark) Despeaux and Debbie Malloy; grandchildren Stephanie (Aaron) Montgomery and Neal (Kayla) Montgomery, great grandchildren Bailey (Taylor), Rylan, Grant, Alyssa, Daniel and Niala and one great great granddaughter Oakley. She also leaves behind her brother Dennis (Nelda) and sister-in-law Georgia as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
The family would like to express gratitude to the team at Saint Francis Hospice especially Bennie’s primary nurse Sue and aid Sherell.
Visitation will be Tuesday November 22, 2022, beginning at 12:00pm at Primrose followed by graveside service at I.O.O.F. at 2pm with Pastor Warren Kiper officiating.
