

She was born May 20, 1931, in Stratford, Oklahoma to Amos Lee and Lena Belle (Putman) Wyatt, the 2nd oldest of 10 children. Betty graduated from Washington High School in 1950. She worked at Ruby's café, Douglas and Pierce Meat Market, and York International as a wiring technician until her retirement in 1995.
She met her husband Paul Sawyer at Ruby's café, they married in 1952. They were married 54 years until his death. She was a member of the Alameda Church of Christ.
Betty loved gardening, reading, walking, church and family, especially her grandchildren. She was best at loving her family, always with love and unselfish devotion. She was loved and admired by her spouse, children, grandchildren and siblings, for her loving kindness and generous heart, and all looked upon her for strength, support and wisdom. She set an example to all who knew her for her strong work ethic, her capacity to love and her assured dependability.
She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse and grandson Justin Sawyer.
She is survived by her son, Gary Sawyer and wife Carol of Norman; daughters, Paula Vann and husband Mark of Norman, Amber Choate of Flower Mound TX; grandchildren, Michael Coffey, Heather Taylor, Brooke Vann, Stephanie Batt, Christopher Vann, Courtney Sawyer, Jonathan Vann, Lauren Sawyer, Chase Sawyer, Jacob Vann, Madeleine Choate and Mason Choate and six great-grandchildren; siblings, Evelyn Sossamon and husband Carl, Melvin Wyatt and wife Francis, Geraline Gray and husband Tommy, Ruth Barnard and husband Ted, Deanie Boyd, Carolyn Boydston and husband Doyle, Diana Boyd and husband Billy, Lynn Wyatt and wife Beverly, Larry Wyatt and wife Debbie.
Bearers will be Michael Coffey, Christopher Vann, Jonathan Vann, Chase Sawyer, Jacob Vann, Steve Taylor and Brian Batt. Honorary bearers will be Mason Choate, Melvin Wyatt, Lynn Wyatt, and Larry Wyatt.
