Carole Margaret Gambrell

Carole had one brother and graduated from high school before moving throughout her life between New Jersey, Virginia, and ultimately Oklahoma, where she spent her final years. She worked as a secretary for law firms and workers’ compensation offices.

On August 17, 1965, Carole married the love of her life, George Michael Gambrell, in Alexandria, Virginia. They shared 54 wonderful years of marriage until George’s passing on November 30, 2019. Together, they lovingly raised their daughter, Cynthia.

Carole had a vibrant spirit and loved gambling, horses, flowers, her beloved dog Wolfie, and spending time with friends and family. She took immense joy in her roles as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George, and her parents, George and Margaret.

Carole is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Gambrell, and her husband, Matt Cannon, of Norman, Oklahoma; her grandsons, Colby Gambrell and his partner and son, Lawson; and Dalton Gambrell and his partner.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Primrose Funeral Service, 1109 North Porter Ave, Norman, OK 73071. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the same location. A committal service will follow at 2:00 PM at Fort Sill National Cemetery, 2648 NE Jake Dunn Rd, Elgin, OK 73538.

Carole will be remembered as a kind, stubborn, and deeply loving woman whose presence touched all who knew her.
