Cecil E Berger was born to Jesse James Berger and Mary Rener DeLay Berger on September 11, 1925 near the Drake-Nebo community in Murray County, OK. He died on May 8, 2010 at his home in Norman after a lengthy battle with lung cancer.
He attended school in the community of Oak Grove. On October 10, 1951 he married the love of his life Marion J. Denton at her parent's home in Sulphur, OK. He worked as a seismograph driller working in several states including Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Montana, Nebraska and New Mexico. After moving to Norman in 1961 he purchased his own drilling rig and water truck and started C. E. Berger Drilling Company, retiring in 1983. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed gardening and took great pride in his yard.
He is survived by a sister, Cleta, wife Marion, son Cecil E Berger Jr. and his wife Alma of Norman.
