

Charlene Hernando, 71 of Moore, Oklahoma passed from this life on January 2, 2017. She was completely healed, joining her savior, Jesus Christ after a courageous battle with Lymphoma. She is known by all for her giving spirit, selflessness, and fierce love for her family.
She is survived by her children: Kent Denney (Anita) of Lumberton, NJ; Tricia Hernando Brooks of St. Louis, MO (Joe of Louisville, KY); Beverly King (Ricky) of Germantown, OH; Felicia Robinson (Glen) of Moore, OK; Jamie Hernando of Moore, OK; Liza Grace Perez (Steve) of Las Vegas, NV; Christine Mae Hernando of Iloilo, Philippines and Susan Fern Hernando of Las Vegas, NV; 13 grandchildren: Elizabeth Burchell (Jeremy) of Tampa, FL; Ryan Denney (Lindsay) of Coral Springs, FL; Thomas Brooks (Jaime Bennett) of Louisville, KY; Lindley LeMon (Justin) of Louisville, KY; Jonathan, Andrew, and Jacob King of Germantown, OH; Kyla, Rece, and Jace Barkley of Moore, OK; Justin and Janine Tañada of Iloilo, Philippines; Angela Hertel of Greenville, SC; 1great grandchild, Savannah Burchell of Tampa, FL and 1 sister: Margaret Spivey (Jonathan) of Amarillo, TX and her children, Andrea, August and Raven.
Charlene is preceded in death by her husband, Orlando; her parents, J.P. and Margaret Mayhall; her sister, Letha Johnson; one step-daughter, Nina Joy Tañada and Evelyn Luellen “Aunt Ebbie”.
Charlene was born on November 25, 1945 in Amarillo, Texas. She graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1964. She married her best friend, Orlando, in 1981. Together they blended two families and became one.
Throughout her life, Charlene used her talents and gifts in many ways. She was an expert seamstress, cosmetologist, loan documenter, Tupperware lady and she is known by her children as the jack of all trades.
She loved serving the Lord by working as a secretary and bookkeeper at several churches. She devoted many years to leading children’s church as well as singing and directing the choir. The career she treasured the most was working with children with autism as a paraprofessional for 15 years before retiring in 2011. Even after retirement, she continued working with former students as their home training specialist.
Charlene valued family above herself and consistently shined Christ’s love to them and everyone around her. She was a pillar of strength and radiated peace and unwavering faith even through life’s trials. She will be remembered for her determination, loving kindness and perseverance.
The family will be at Primrose Funeral Service to greet with friends from 6 pm Thursday, Jan. 5.
Funeral Services will be Friday, January 6, 2017, at 10:30 am at the Fresh Start Community Church in Moore. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
