Born on September 7, 1931, he was an only child to Arthur and Minnie Stowe. He attended Washington Elementary School and graduated from Norman High School in 1949. He joined the USAF and served in Japan during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged from Carswell Air Force Base in 1954.
He met Radonia Nadine Owens while at Carswell Air Force Base, Fort Worth, TX, where they both served. They were married and settled in Norman where he attended OU for a brief time before going to work for the Post Office. He worked for the US Postal Service at Norman and a brief time in Wichita, Kansas.
He is survived by his Nadine, of the home; four sons, Charles Jr. and Rita of Guthrie, Gary and Karen of Oklahoma City, James and Harriet of Durant, and Daniel and Elizabeth of Norman; grandchildren Kim and Mark Alexander of Yukon, Kris and Susan Tomlinson of Crescent, Stephanie Ozimek of Moore, Jennifer and Travis Wiley of Coppers Cove, TX, Christopher Stowe of Norman, Rebecca Stowe of Norman; great grandchildren, Morgan, Brittani, Nicole, Haven Nicole, and Colby Ozimek.
