Charles L. Wright

Always the family man he coached his son in little league baseball, bowled, golfed, and enjoyed going to garage sales and the casino. He loved fishing at Lake Texoma where he and Thelma had a lake house for 30 years. Charles wouldn’t dare miss great-grandson Carson’s sporting events and took great joy in holding great-granddaughter Allyson.

He worked in the grocery store business for Safeway and Homeland moving from western through central Oklahoma until retirement after 43 years in January of 1996.

After retiring Charles served on the Oklahoma Federal Credit Union Board for 15 years. He was a member of the Chickasha Chamber of Commerce as well as the Lyons Club of Norman.

Mr. Wright is preceded in death by his parents, Lacy and Edith Wright; and brothers Monroe Wright and Barney Wright.

He is survived by his wife Thelma Rea (Cook) Wright, of the home; son Tommie Leon Wright and wife Peggy of Norman; grandson Marcus Leon Wright and wife Amber of Norman; granddaughter Tammie Lou Wright of Norman; great-grandson Carson Leon Wright of Norman; great-granddaughter Allyson Nichole Wright of Norman; and sister Shirley Thomas of Norman, and a host of family and friends.

Family will receive friends at Primrose Funeral Service from 6pm till 8pm, Tuesday June 21, 2011. Services will be 2:00PM Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at Primrose Chapel with interment to follow at Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha.
