Cheryl Paulette Meserve, 74, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025, in Moore, Oklahoma, surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 4, 1951, in Great Bend, Kansas, Cheryl was the daughter of Richard A. Jeans Sr. and Mildred M. (Durbin) Jeans.
Cheryl grew up in Kansas and graduated from Palco High School, where she was an active member of the Girl Scouts throughout her school years. Her career was marked by dedication and service as a driver’s license examiner supervisor. Outside of work, Cheryl pursued her passion for lawn mower racing, earning recognition as a champion in the sport.
Cheryl lived most of her life in Kansas before retiring and relocating to Oklahoma to be closer to her beloved grandchildren. Known for her infectious laugh and bright spirit, she brought joy to those around her. She had a deep love for hymns, oldies music, and the color yellow, nearly everything she touched was touched by yellow’s warmth and cheer.
She found great happiness in simple pleasures; spending time with her grandchildren and pets, laughing with friends, crafting ceramics, and visiting the ocean. Cheryl’s presence brought comfort, humor, and love to all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Shawn Paul Meserve and his wife Lesley Michelle of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Kelli Lee Walter and her husband Justin of Moore, Oklahoma; her siblings, Judy Marie Saindon of Arkansas and Vicki Lynn Fabrizius of Salina, Kansas; her cherished granddaughters, Derenda Rachelle Davis (Chad), Kylie Allison Begay (Kaden), Makayla Jean Clarkson (Christopher), Julie Marie Walter, Bethany Grace Sanchez (Marcus), Katherine Nicole Walter, Melanie Joy Walter, Samantha Faith Walter, Lucy Abigail Walter, and Evelyn Hope Walter; and her great-granddaughters, Kindelyn Grace Hey and Haisley Kayte Davis. She is also survived by many other loving family members and friends.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Sr. and Mildred Jeans, and her brothers, Richard Allen Jeans Jr. and Donald Duane Jeans.
In loving memory of a life so beautifully lived and a heart so deeply loved.
