Diana was born May 28, 1946, to Nita and William Dunsworth in Witchita Falls, Texas. She married her long time love Chuck Baker on February 1, 1980 and celebrated 41 years of marriage.
Diana's first love was music. She started her music career in the bluegrass band Country Mile, and later, local Norman band Bennie Frank. But perhaps Diana was best known for her strong vocals, performing alongside her husband in the classic rock band Harvey and the Wallbanger’s.
Her true calling was teaching. She taught children with special needs from 1979 until her retirement in 2007. Later she combined her calling as a teacher with her love for music as a vocal coach, teaching countless students, some of which went on to perform in national competitions. It was her belief that anyone could learn to sing, and everyone had a beautiful voice that she could help them find.
Her favorite hobby was studying the meaning and origin of names. If anyone ever told Diana their name, she would nearly always know everything about it. If it was a new name for her, she would research it and return to that person to let them know the onomatology behind their name. She would even print out the details along with the name crest for special occasions.
She loved her family and was ecstatic for her new role as Grandma, when her youngest son Eric and his wife Dianna welcomed her first granddaughter Charlie in November of 2020.
Diana is preceded in death by her parents Juanita and William Dunsworth. She is survived by her husband Chuck Baker, Norman, OK, her sister Deborah Hall, of Los Angeles, California, her two sons Allen (Candice) Bailey, Anchorage, Alaska, Eric (Dianna) Baker, Edmond, Oklahoma, her granddaughter, Charlie Adair Baker, Edmond, Oklahoma, and several brother and sister in laws, and nieces and nephews. A Celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date
