Edward Vincent “Funky Cold” Medina, 72, of Oklahoma City passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of Sunday, Feb 6, 2022. Eddie grew up in Huntington Park, California a town he loved and would return to visit often. He enjoyed 20.5yrs in the United States Air Force before being honorably discharged in 1990. Eddie being true to his nature quickly realized he wanted to stay busy and subsequently found his second journey with Dolese Brothers Construction where he began working in 1993 and worked until his final retirement in 2017.
In retirement he spent time traveling across the country; one of his biggest loves was traveling, he also enjoyed photography, family trips with Theresa, their children and grandchildren, attending concerts and live productions of off broadway plays at the Civic Center and camping. Being a cinefile many precious memories are of taking his children and the entire family for an afternoon at the theater, a love he passed on to all of his children. Ed’s quick wit, sarcastic humor, compassion and giving nature will be dearly missed and always remembered.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents Natividad and Carmen Medina, in-laws Francisco and Librada Cordova, son James, sister Rachel Arroyo and brother in law Ray, great niece Jayda, brothers in law Mickey and Candy Cordova, Mike Anderson and precious sister in law Marian (Joyce) Cordova. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Theresa, brother David, sister Erlinda Parks, AWAC brothers James “Chili” McQuillar and Samuel Rampey, children; Dominique and wife Rosa, Amanda and husband Bryan Baxter, Anniettriea, Vincent and wife Danielle, Christopher and wife Anj, Nicholas Medina and honorary daughter Sherry Pendley, Grandchildren; Dominique Medina, Ian Zachry and wife Hannah, Kristina Medina, Reyna and Bella Medina, Landon Trousdale-Medina, Ari Baxter, Jamal Medina, Jaydon Medina, Jakoiya, Sophia, Christian and Ethan Medina, Rylan Wade Medina and great grandchildren Skyler Lipscomb and Florence Medina.
