Glen R. Woodard went to be with his Heavenly Father on March 30, 2024. He was born on November 30, 1947, in Oklahoma City, to Henry Allen Woodard and Nancy Fay (Britton) Woodard. He graduated from Meeker High School with the Class of 1965. Upon graduation, he attended the Local Union 344 Joint Apprenticeship Training Program in Oklahoma City. Glen began his career as a welder/pipefitter for Kay Engineering. He was also a superintendent for Matherly Mechanical and Trade Mechanical. He enjoyed his work and would often take his family to see the job sites that he was working on, explaining his work to them in detail. He took pride in his work and it always showed. He was also a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union-Local 344 for over 55 years. Glen was also a 3rd Class Petty Officer in the Seabees and proudly served his Country during the Vietnam War.
He married his sweetheart, Falba B. Reid on February 24, 1967 and they were happily married 57 years, 1 month and 6 days. He is survived by his wife, Falba, of the home; 2 daughters, Glenna Westbrook and husband, Jason of Norman, OK and Elicia Gingrich and husband, Stacy of Shawnee, OK; 2 grandsons, Ethan Gingrich and wife Morgan of Amarillo, TX and Cody Gingrich and wife Hayli of Williamston, SC; and 1 great-granddaughter, Hallie Gingrich of Amarillo, TX. He is also survived by his brother Leonard Woodard and wife Louise of Del City; and brother in law Wesley Gallaway. He was preceded in death by his mother and father and 2 sisters Nancy Jo Gallaway and Judy Roberts. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Glen enjoyed being with his family and they have many special adventures together that will be cherished forever. When his grandsons were in school, he and Falba attended everything from sporting events, livestock shows, awards assemblies and everything the boys were involved in. He and Falba liked to travel and had purchased a 5th wheel travel trailer and went on several trips with their camping buddies, Rickey and Pam Keith. Glen also loved stockcar and NASCAR racing. His and Falba’s first date was attending a stockcar race. He even raced at the OKC Fairgrounds and drove 47 Diamond. His family, including his nieces and nephew, always cheered him on at the races. They even had a special cheer just for him and 47 Diamond. His favorite color was yellow.
Glen was a founding member of the Lakeview church of Christ, where he served as a Deacon for many years. He, presently, was a member of the Highland church of Christ, where he previously served as a Deacon, and was a member there for many years.
Glen had several titles that he went by, including Woodard, Daddy, Papa, G-Papa, Uncle Turkey, and Mr. Glen Woodard Sir. Each title had a special meaning to him and he enjoyed every one of them! Some of them even indicated the ornery streak he had at times.
The family will cherish our memories forever. He will be greatly missed.
A visitation for Glen will be held Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Primrose Funeral Service, 1109 North Porter Ave, Norman, OK 73071. A funeral service will occur Friday, April 5, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Highland Church of Christ, 905 E Walnut St, Tecumseh, OK 74873.
