Carl was born to Carl and Loretta Ketner on May 12, 1961, in Oklahoma City, OK and graduated from Washington High School in Washington, OK. He went on to receive his Juris Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2010. He continued his service to the College of Law as the Director of IT until his retirement in 2015. He truly loved his work family at OU.
Carl enjoyed time with his family – taking great pleasure in spending time with his wife, kids and grandkids, fishing, riding four-wheelers, shooting, and playing video games. He especially enjoyed time with his son and brother working on car projects. He also developed a love of photography and astrophotography
Carl was known for his love of fun. He loved dad jokes, making up words to songs, and the occasional prank. He will be remembered most for his smile, laughter, and joy of life.
Carl was preceded in death by his sister Lesa Ketner, his paternal grandparents Columbus and Agnes Ketner, and his maternal grandparents Harve and Helen Murphy.
Carl is survived by his wife Pam Ketner; daughter Kaitlin Skinner, her husband Kent; daughter Jessica Gent, her husband Jeff; son Brandon Ketner, his partner Tara Hope; parents Carl and Loretta Ketner; brother Mike Ketner, his wife Jana; grandchildren Paisleigh Skinner, Kaylee Gent, Brock Morris, Logan Gent, Barrett Gent, Flynn Ketner, Adalyn Ketner, Waylen Hope, Liam Hope, Faith Hope, Bentley Hope; nephews Zach and Matthew Ketner.
Visitation will be from 7:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Primrose Funeral Services in Norman. His Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 18, 2022, at Primrose Funeral Services.
