He was born February 25, 1943 in Corpus Christi Texas to James Richard and Maudie (Winters) Lister. On July 31st, 1964 in Brentwood, California he married Judy Bowers.
Jim served his country in the United States Navy. He loved airplanes and dedicated his life to them, being a crop duster for over 40years. Jim participated as an air show pilot and in the Reno Air races winning a silver medal. He always had the need for speed whether it be flying and racing planes, riding motorcycles or just being an avid fan of Nascar.
Survivors include his wife Judy of Tecumseh; children: Debbie Kilby of Placerville, CA, Jennifer (George) Bradley of Choctaw, J.R. (Lynette) Lister III of Tecumseh; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; siblings: Tom (Donna) Lister, Barbara (David) Hawkins, Mike (Sharon) Lister, Robert (Marie) Lister; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 8am until 3pm Wednesday May 20, 2015 at Primrose Funeral Services 1109 North Porter Ave Norman OK. Funeral services will be at 11am Thursday May 21, 2015 at Harvest Church, 6450 36th Ave NW Norman, OK. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park ,Norman OK.
