

Jerel-James “JJ” T. Tabor, 20, of Norman, died on May 17, 2012 in Norman. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday May, 25, 2012 at St. Mark Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. A Wake will be held at St. Mark Catholic Church at 7:00 PM on Thursday, May 24, 2012. Services are under the direction of Primrose Funeral Service.
JJ was born on September 1, 1991 in Lawton Oklahoma to Jerwin T. Tabor and Merla (Tisbe) Tabor. JJ grew up in Lawton and graduated from Eisenhour High School in 2009. He graduated with honors, finishing in the top 10% of his class. After High School, JJ, attended the University of Oklahoma. He was a solider in the Army Reserves.
JJ loved to play the violin. He also loved to play the piano, the classical guitar, the electric guitar and the clarinet. He was in the Army Reserve Band. JJ loved to compete in musical competitions and winning the highest awards numerous times, even receiving the Governor's Commendation for several years. JJ was awarded the Superintendent Award for Arts Excellence by Superintendent Sandy Garrett. He also played at the All-State Orchestra and OU Symphony Orchestra. JJ was recognized and praised by everyone for his musical talents, good nature and kind heart. He was an ideal son.
JJ is survived by his parents and his grandparents, Pedro and Rosita Tisbe and Visitacion Tabor.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Thomas Tabor.
