Lovie Elminnie Reynolds

Lovie Bennett-Reynolds, 98, of Norman, born October 19, 1912 to Arthur and Marie Miller-Richardson in Skeedee, OK, went to be with the Lord our Savior on Sunday, November 14, 2010 after a brief battle with pneumonia. She married Jim Boss Bennett on February 19, 1937 until his death in 1964, with whom she gave birth to 11 children. She met and married Lester Reynolds in 1981 to whom she was married for 20 years until his death in 2002.

She retired from Central State Hospital in Norman after 25 years in food service.

She enjoyed crocheting, reading her bible, serving the Lord and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by a sister Mary Mendenhall of Ft. Smith, AR.; sons Doug Bennett and wife Linda of Tishimingo, Tom Bennett and wife Susan of Norman and Robert Bennett of Noble; daughters Linda Jagers and husband Walter of Noble, Phyllis Richmond and husband Raford of Byhalia, MS. Betty Johnson and husband Walt of Techumseh; Joy Warren and husband Allyn of Norman; 26 grandchildren; 63 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and the staff at Noble Healthcare Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Marie; two husbands Jim Boss Bennett and Lester Reynolds; and sons Ronald and Donald Bennett.

Services will be 10:00AM Wednesday November 17, 2010 at Primrose Chapel, Norman, with Allyn Warren Officiating. Interment will follow at Denver Cemetery, under the direction of Primrose Funeral Service.
