

Marie Wadsworth, of Plano, Texas passed away Monday, July 3, 2023. Marie was born July 4, 1923, in No Man’s Land, near Forgan, Oklahoma. Marie met and married William (Bill) H. Wadsworth, July 20, 1947, in Medford, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Bill; her parents; Henry and Elizabeth Franz, two brothers; Edmond and Raymond Franz, and one sister; Martha Meyers. She is survived by 4 children: Mark Wadsworth, wife Penny, of Plano, Texas, Carol Wadsworth of Overland Park, Kansas, David Wadsworth, wife Connie, of Hempstead, Texas and Robert, wife Jeanette, of Sahuarita, Arizona, and one sister; Erma Kroutil, of Medford, Oklahoma, 4 grandchildren; April Rasco, husband Jayson of Fulshear, Texas, Spring Nester of Woodward, Oklahoma, Matt Wadsworth, of Sahuarita, Arizona and Stephen Wadsworth, wife Chelsea, of Wiesbaden, Germany, along with 6 great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Wadsworth, Alyssa Burton, Jayson Rasco Jr., Tia Bjork, Xachary Nester and Lexi Nester including 6 great-great children; Addley Burton, Annie Burton, Avery Soverigen, Rowan Bjork, Tate Myers and Daxx Cope; several nieces, nephews and friends.
In 1932, Marie moved with her parents, grandparents, and siblings from a sod house on their farm in Beaver County, Oklahoma to Medford, Oklahoma by covered wagon. She attended the Mennonite Church near Medford, then joined the Congregational Church in Medford as a teenager. As a child, she won the Oklahoma State-wide Spelling Bee contest, and was top of her class during High School. Marie worked as a Switchboard Operator with Southwest Bell Telephone Company in Medford. She met her husband, Bill while working at Southwest Bell, and were married on July 20, 1947, in Medford. Marie was a stay-at-home mother after her children were born and was very active in their lives. She looked forward to the holidays when all her children and grandchildren came to visit and enjoyed taking her grandchildren fishing. She loved traveling, going on walks, working in her garden, watching old western movies, watching football, basketball, and camping.
Services for Marie will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park, located at 2301 E Indian Hills Rd., Norman, Oklahoma
