Martha Kirkpatrick

Martha moved to Norman in 1967. She was the owner of Martha’s Pet Grooming, one of the first pet grooming businesses to offer home pickup and delivery services. She was a great mom and homemaker participating in all of her children’s activities, including Brownie and Girl Scout Troop Leader, and was president of the PTA several times.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oklahoma City.

Martha is survived by her son, Mike Allen Kirkpatrick of Norman; three daughters, Lee Ann Primrose and her husband, Ben of Plano, Texas, Caren Kirkpatrick-Thurston of Norman, Sherra Kirkpatrick of Norman; four grandchildren, Dana Marlow of Spokane, Washington, Brandon Kirkpatrick of Oklahoma City, Robby Thurston and Taylor Thurston both of Norman; her great-grandson, Noah Folks of Spokane, Washington and great-grandson Drake Kirkpatrick; three brothers, R. B. Doss of Crossett, Arkansas, Lee Doss of Lubbock, Texas, Ralph Doss of Hamburg, Arkansas; three sisters, Sybil Barnes of Moore, Naomi Barnard of Norman, Dean Langley of Hamburg, Arkansas; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters and grandson Nathan Kirkpatrick.

Bearers will be Don Newsom, Randy Barnes, John Barnes, Jonathan Grissom, Robby Thurston and Brandon Kirkpatrick.

Services will be 1:00 PM Thursday at the Primrose Chapel with Brother Joe Grizzle officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park, under the direction of Primrose Funeral Service. The family will receive friends Wednesday 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Primrose Funeral Service.
