She is survived by her husband Mark and four sons, Jim, Tom, Dave, and Dan, as well as two brothers, Jack and Kenneth Steele, and a sister, Sally Noll. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren.
Mary was an active member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church. She held a master's degree in Human Resources and in Library Sciences from the University of Oklahoma. Mary spent the majority of her career working for the libraries of O.S.U., O.U., and the Oklahoma State Capitol.
