Mohammad was born in Abadan, Iran on May 25, 1953, to Zahra and Khodaram Davani. He moved to the United States with his wife Soroor Gholami Davani in 1976 to attend the University of Oklahoma to study engineering. Mohammad was not only the life of the party, but he was an entrepreneur, avid fisherman, amateur chef, and musician. There was never a dull moment when he had a pair of Tomback drums in his hands.
A genuinely self-made man, Mohammad worked his way from the food-service industry to owning multiple businesses around Norman; Moe’s Carpet Cleaning, International Groceries, and The Hookah Bar. If you ever visited one of his businesses, you know his innate ability to make you feel like a dear friend. His work was his passion in life and he strove to do his very best to provide for his family. We mourn his untimely death, but we celebrate the way he lived his life. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Soroor Gholami Davani, his son Sawmon Davani; daughter Sogoal Davani Nance and her husband Nick Nance; grandson Monroe Soroosh Nance; daughter-in-law Rosemary Roberson Davani-Jakub, sister Keshvar, brothers Ebrahim, Eredge, Jamshid, sister Nahid, and many nieces and nephews.
His passing is preceded by his parents, Zahra and Khodaram Davani; son Soroosh Y. Davani; brothers Mehdi and Mehran.
Family and friends are invited to attend Mohammad Davani’s graveside service on Thursday, October 21st, 2021at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery (2301 E Indian Hills Rd, Norman, OK) at 12:00 pm.
