My sweet Patrick, this is the second Christmas we've been without your beautiful face, your child-like behavior throughout the season, your precious love of all things living. Our hearts are less full without you here. 
As your mom, I want to tell you about the difference you made in peoples' lives, but it still feels so raw, all I can think about is the difference in MY life since you had to go away. 
As you well know, I still talk to you every day. Sometimes I have the conversations as though you're right here in the room. Other times, as you know all too well, I fall to the floor, begging you, begging God, to make this all go away. I want God to bring you home to me, let me rock my child in my arms just one more time. Oh please, dear Lord, bring my child home to me. Oh God, oh God, I'll do Anything, please pleaseeee bring my child home to me, just one touch, one smile from him, God, then Please take Me...Leave my precious child here, healthy, happy, sweet loving Patrick. He's so good, oh Please bring his loving heart home. Take me, God, let me have one brief day with him, then leave him here on earth to do what he does best, God. Take me in his place, please God. My life is spent, I've nothing left to offer my other children, or their children.They don't need me here, God, but they need their Brother, their Uncle Patrick. I can't even begin to list all the people whose lives are less full because Patrick isn't here, but we all know I've so little to offer anyone now. Please Patrick, come home to mommy, let me hold you, rock you to sleep just once more, then oh Patrick please, then, stay here to be God's warrior, spreading that smile, that love that only you can give to others. We need you here, Patrick, we need you healthy and happy and no longer in pain, no longer sick inside your body. We need you to come back, Patrick, and I will sit here and rock you, sing to you, hold you safely in my arms until you're well enough to claim your free spirit again.

Pat, you were one of my best Friends. I have so many great memories of us. Love and miss you my Friend...

Patrick I will always think about you every Sunday morning! Spending the past three years getting to sit and visit with you while Sissy groomed Oliver was very special to me! Discussing movies, TV shows, politics, music, life  and if course recapping our beloved Sooner games. Those special mornings spent with you and Sissy are priceless. Thank you for your big heart, your big hugs and big love. I know you will find a way to get us to the National Championship.  My heart hurts for your family with lots of love Patty xo

Patrick... I love you my brother my friend. I was not ready to say good bye to you. I am so grateful to have known you. You brought so much happiness and goodness to all who knew you. I miss you already. Until we meet again <3

Patrick was one of the kindest men that I've ever known!  He truly had a heart of GOLD and he never new a stranger! He will be missed!!!!!!

I am sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to your entire family. I didn't have the pleasure of knowing Patrick. Paul and I worked together some years back and I grew to admire and seek this mans intelligence and wit. Parents should not have to experience the loss of a child. I have two of my own and can speak of the feeling you must have. My father passed on the 3rd of February of this year and I lost my sister in 1982. Nothing can replace the loss of a loved one except GOD. Keep strong in your faith as well as family unity and cherish the memories of your loved one. GOD bless

My dearest cousin, I did not know you as well as I would have liked to but I know how compassionate you were. I know everyone felt the constant love emitting from you. I know it was a pleasure merely being in your presence and you gave the best hugs. We will miss you, but I am sure Grandpa Martin will keep you entertained until we meet again.

Patrick, You are my firstborn. The sudden loss of you is almost more than my very being can bear. May your larger than life heart, your naturally inquisitive mind, be at blessed peace now. You will be loved beyond the end of time.
