Patrick graduated from high school in Madawaska, Maine, and proudly served his country in the United States Army. He later met the love of his life, Margaret McDaniel, and the two were married on July 29, 1965, a union that spanned nearly 60 beautiful years.
A man of many passions, Patrick found joy in music of all kinds, and his favorite color was gray. His perfect day was one spent on the golf course, where he even achieved the rare feat of a hole-in-one. He was an accomplished carpenter whose hard work and craftsmanship touched many. Patrick also loved to travel and treasured time spent with his family above all else.
He taught those around him the value of hard work, and he will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who deeply loved his family.
Patrick is survived by his loving wife, Margaret of the home; his children: Edward Barfield and wife Michelle of Winter Garden, Florida; Rusty Barfield and wife Seng of Norman, Oklahoma; Randy Barfield of Oklahoma City; and Wes Marquis and wife Dawn of Loxley, Alabama. He is also survived by his siblings: Bob and Clair Marquis of Scarborough, Maine; Betty Gillmore of Sharpsburg, Georgia; and Dee and Brian Gagnon of Berlin, Connecticut. Patrick leaves behind nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fernand and Cecile Marquis.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the Primrose Funeral Service Chapel in Norman, Oklahoma. The family will receive friends during visitation on Wednesday, May 21, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
