Peter Andrew Douglas, 75, of Norman passed away March 9, 2013, at his home. He was born on January 28, 1938, in Pittsburgh, PA to Samuel and Thelma Douglas. He married Betty Evelyn Curliss on May 26, 1973, in McAlister. Peter worked for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections for 20 years. He later retired from the Oklahoma Medical Board. He serviced as Governor of the Oklahoma district for Optimist International and was a lifetime member.
Peter also served with the Boy Scouts of America for over 30 years which included designing the patch used by the ushers at the OU home games for the past 15 years. He was preceded in death by his parents Sam and Thelma; brother, Sam Douglas; and sister, Sally Douglas.
Peter is survived by his wife Betty of the home; son, David Douglas and his wife Paige of Bartlesville; and grandsons, Landon and Parker Douglas of Bartlesville.
Memorial Contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation at the request of the family.
