

He was born December 26, 1946, to William Dean and Marguarite Rose-Alma (Abbott) Burke in Maple Shade, New Jersey. Mr. Burke was in the United States Air Force and attended military training receiving his GED in 1974 at Sacramento, California. He trained on the radio AWACS microwave antenna and performed mobile communications remote air control setup for 21 years and 9 months. He had been stationed at San Antonio, Thailand, Iceland, and the Philippines. He and his family came to Norman in 1983.
Mr. Burke was a member of the American Legion, Silver Spurs and Thunderbird Square Dance groups.
He married his wife, Lucille Norton on September 7, 1972 and in 2014, they celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; and his brother, Marty Burke.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille; his daughter, Selena and husband Kelly Belvin; his son, Kyle Burke; his daughter, Tamara and husband Chris Banks; granddaughters, Kira, Kylie and Kamryn Burke; grandsons, David, Anthony and Hunter.
Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, at the Primrose Chapel. Burial of ashes will be at Sunset Memorial park.
The family has suggested Stephenson Cancer Center as appropriate for memorial contributions.
