

Ronald was born to George Applegarth and Elsie (Farmer) Applegarth on February 17, 1934 in Keefton, Oklahoma. Ronald lived on the family farm in Muskogee County, Oklahoma and graduated from Warner High School in Warner, Oklahoma. He attended Connors State College in Warner before moving to Norman, Oklahoma to attend the University of Oklahoma. He received an Associate's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He was a member of the Air National Guard. Ronald worked for OG&E from 1958 until his retirement in 1994. He was a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, Oklahoma Society of Professional Engineers and the Oklahoma Engineering Foundation. He moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 2021.
Ronald met the love of his life, Glennie Graham, in Norman, Oklahoma. They married June, 1957 and were married for over 65 years at the time of his passing. Ronald and Glennie have 3 children, 4 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Ronald was an ardent gun enthusiast and was very knowledgeable about firearms. He was a certified gun safety instructor. He enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing. He also loved a good game of dominoes, preferably Moon. He was an avid reader of western novels and enjoyed western movies. He was a member of the Church of Christ and was known for his deep faith and convictions.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, George and Elsie Applegarth; brother, Wayne Applegarth; brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Helen Applegarth.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Glennie Applegarth; daughters, Mae Cavins and husband Howard, and Faye Wallace and husband Roy; son, Dwain Applegarth; grandchildren, Kaylie Bailey and husband Trace, Jennifer Smallwood and husband Ryan, Tony Wallace, and Joe Cavins; great-grandchildren, Ellie and Georgia Bailey, and Chloe and Corwin Smallwood; brothers, Leamon Applegarth and wife Linda, and Edward Applegarth; sister, Faye Bell and husband Troy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at Primrose Funeral Home in Norman, Oklahoma on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at 10AM, after which he will be laid to rest at IOOF Cemetery in Norman, Oklahoma.
