He married Betty Lou Wheeler on July 9, 1954. Mr. Spangler received his associate degree from Penn State University and served in the United States Army Military Police during the Korean Conflict. He lived in York, Pennsylvania until a job transfer in 1982 to Borg Warner-Johnson Control in Norman, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Lou Spangler and his sister, Linda Sue Eisenhart.
He is survived by two sons, Brett Allen Spangler, Mark Edward Spangler; four grandchildren, Dakota Spangler, Danielle Spangler, Kayla Leigh Spangler, Becca Paige Spangler; great-granddaughter, Aaliyah Leslie; a niece, Ronda A. Flickinger; and a nephew, Shane L. Eisenhart.
Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, September 6, 2014 at the Primrose Chapel with Chaplain Harry Smith officiating.
The family has suggested, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
