Funeral service for Russell Leroy Bennett, 79, of Norman will be 10 am Monday, March 16, 2015, at Primrose Funeral Service Chapel with Harry Smith, officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Warren Cemetery.
Visitation will be 12 – 8 pm Sunday, March 15, 2015, at Primrose Funeral Home.
Russell passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, in Norman.
Russell grew up in Oklahoma City and had lived in Norman the past 30 years. He loved to talk sports and was a big fan of all OU athletics. He had a mild manner with a quick wit. He was a Republican thru and thru. He was a member of Kiwanis and was a volunteer for meals on wheels.
He was preceded in death by his parents: H.P. and Goldie Bennett; and three brothers: Perry, Glen Eugene and Robert Bennett.
He is survived by his wife, Linda of 38 years; two sons: Gregory Bennett and Christopher Bennett and wife, Carol; one sister: Joann Longest and husband, Bob; two grandson: Zachary Bennett and Andrew Emery; and numerous nieces and nephews.
