

Troy was born in Blanchard, Oklahoma on November 8th, 1929, to James Odis and Ella Margaret Moore. He is survived by Vinita Jo Moore, his beloved wife of 63 years. He is also survived by his son Mark Alan Moore and wife Pattye Moore of Edmond, Oklahoma and daughter Sheri Lynn Kittle and husband Kory Kittle of Shawnee, Kansas. He also leaves behind his pride and joy 5 grandchildren Collin Fauss, Jordyn Kittle, Landon Kittle, Melissa Thompson and husband Brandon, and Lindsey Moore. He also enjoyed 5 great-grandchildren Brayden and Addison Fauss and Aidan, Henry, and Peter Thompson.
Troy was a devoted husband, father, granddad, and friend to many. He enjoyed his Tuesday mornings on the golf course, fishing, hunting pheasant and quail, and taking care of his 1965 baby blue mustang. Troy was a devout Oklahoma Sooner fan, where he held season tickets for football for 38 years. In 1999, Troy was selected for the Dr. Pepper SEC Punt, Pass, and Kick Challenge where he won a cash prize and a year’s worth of hamburgers.
Troy graduated from Blanchard High School in 1949 and immediately went to Draughon’s School of Business. Troy married his high school sweetheart Vinita Jo Richey on November 10th, 1951. In March 1951, Troy enlisted in the US Army at Camp Chaffee and was stationed at the Engineering Depot in Germany during the Korean War. He was discharged and upon returning to the US he worked at Tinker Air Force base in the Army artillery force and served alongside the Crypto team from 1954-1959. After serving his time in the military, Troy continued his education at Central State University and graduated with his Bachelors of Science in 1959. After graduation, Troy was employed at Taft Middle School where he taught history and math.
Troy worked at Goodyear from 1959-1965 and then in 1965 he went to work at Sears in the automotive and hardware department and then retired in 1985. In 1978, Troy, Vinita, and Paula Richey bought the dry good store, “Gilmores” in Blanchard, Oklahoma, and renamed it “The Store” in 1978. During retirement, Troy was an active volunteer at Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History.
Troy attended Rancho Village Baptist Church in Oklahoma City where he accepted Christ in 1970. When Troy and Vinita moved to Norman, Oklahoma they found their church home to be Bethel Baptist Church, where they were involved in Sunday school, church services, and served faithfully.
