Vinita J. Moore

Vinita began her 83 years of life on October 6, 1931. She was born to Roley David Richey and Ethel Hazel Richey in Blanchard, Oklahoma. She is preceded in death by her husband, Troy Udell Moore of Oklahoma City, OK.

She is survived by her son Mark Alan Moore and wife Pattye Moore of Edmond, Oklahoma and daughter Sheri Lynn Kittle and husband Kory Kittle of Shawnee, Kansas. She also leaves behind her pride and joy 5 grandchildren Collin Fauss, Jordyn Kittle, Landon Kittle, Melissa Thompson and husband Brandon, and Lindsey Moore. She also enjoyed 5 great-grandchildren Brayden and Addison Fauss and Aidan, Henry, and Peter Thompson.

She is also survived by two siblings a sister, Paula Richey of Blanchard, OK a brother, David Richey and his wife Vicki of Newalla, OK and two nephews, Patrick and Kyle Richey. She was preceded in death by a sister, Uva Jean in 1937.

Vinita graduated from Blanchard High School in 1949 and immediately went to Draughon’s School of business where she obtained her associates degree in stenography. She married her high school sweetheart on November 10, 1951. She used her degree where she worked for 20 years or more and retired from the Oklahoma Tax Commission.

She was a devoted wife, mother, caregiver and friend to many. Vinita was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church in Norman, OK for 30 years. She will be remembered by her love for her family and her grandchildren. She spent much of her time with her friends in her Sunday school class at Bethel and participating in extended family activities. Vinita leaves a legacy of generosity to many who knew her. Vinita was a strong woman who overcame breast cancer twice in her life. In addition, she and Troy cared for a lifelong friend Bob Lane for many years, which passed away in 2010.

Services will be held at Primrose Funeral Home, located at 1109 N. Porter Ave., Norman, OK on Wednesday, February 4 at 10:00am with visitation from 8:45am to 9:45am. Burial will be in the Blanchard, OK cemetery. Services will be conducted by Reverend Jack Richey.
