

Virginia Ann Wright was born on November 4, 1932, in Norman, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Warren M. Bishop and Saraphine (Strategier) Bishop. She grew up in Norman attending Norman Public Schools. Following her education she married Everett Lee Wright on April 13, 1950 in Norman and they made their home in Norman. She began working for Dorsett’s and at the Griffin Memorial Hospital for a short time. At an early age she began playing the piano which led to her career in the Country and Western Industry, opening for several venues including George Strait and Jerry Lee Lewis. She also owned and operated Virginia’s All Breed Grooming for over forty years. Her husband preceded her in death on November 29, 2014, and she continued to make Norman her home. She enjoyed playing the piano and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the Moose Lodge.
She is survived by two sons, John Wright and wife Lenice of Moore, Oklahoma, and Jerry Wright and wife Vivian of Norman, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Kristan Rivas and husband Amir of Las Vegas, Nevada, Sterling Wright and Austin Wright both of Norman, Alexis Vinavong of Norman, Kerri and Julie Wright both of Moore; and a host of friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Services are scheduled for Friday, January 8, 2016, at 10:00 a.m., at Primrose Funeral Service. Burial will follow in the Warren Cemetery.
