He died November 26, 2010 in Norman, after a battle with cancer.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Aaron Donwerth and his parents.
Warren is survived by wife of 47 years, Bonnie McKenzie; his two daughters, Donna Barnard and husband Vint, Debra Donwerth and husband Edward all of Norman; three grandsons, Derek Donwerth and wife Stephanie (expecting first great-grandson in March), Justin Donwerth, Kevin Barnard and wife Tristen all of Norman; one granddaughter, Katrina Dillwith and husband Earl of Stillwater; his sisters, Bettye Fortune of Lexington,Gayenelle Walker of Ft. Woth, Texas; his brother, Bill Sallis, of McAlister and wife Barbara; and many other relatives.
Warren graduated from Norman High School in 1962. He was employed 25 years with Norman Fire Department holding several positions, including diver and working on the rescue squad. He retired as a captain. Fellow Firefighters nicknamed him “Warden.” He was also employed 45 years at Palace Auto Supply.
