Anne was born on August 22, 1918 in Minto, New Brunswick, and passed away on September 24, 2011 in North Battleford, SK at the age of 93 years. Mom enjoyed her life. One of the personality traits she admired most was strength and she was strong to the end of her life. She was determined not to cry about her illness and I don't think she wants us to cry for her either...but go on with our lives and celebrate them. Mom had fun. She loved travelling, camping and fishing, playing cards or just spending time with friends. She spoke of her friends and family often. Mom never lost her sense of humor. A couple of days before she passed she looked over at me snuggled in a chair beside her bed. I was yawning wide. She said "You are going to be dead before this is over!"...and we laughed. What a lady!
Anne is lovingly remembered by her children Margaret Salisbury: Dan (Patsy), Sharon (Walter); Ron (Brenda) Borisenko: Lorna (Dave), Wanda; Ken (Sue) Borisenko: Kelly (Michelle), Karen (Eyves), Sean (Rachel); Ferne (Ken) Simpson: Susan (Grant), Connie (Darren), Crystal (Michael); Bob (Rosie) Borisenko: Lisa, Jodi, Jeremy; Shirley (Larry) Hujber: Christopher (Pamela), Jason (Jennifer); Larry Nelson; numerous great and great great grandchildren; sisters Louise Amos and Willimina Fisher; half sister Mary MacDonald; step sister Clara George; sisters-in-law Ernestine Bolen, Doreen Bolen, Edie Guhl and Beatrice Bolen.
Prayers were held on Wednesday, September 28 from the Chapel of Sallows and McDonald – Wilson and Zehner Funeral Home with Pat Smith presiding. Funeral Mass was held on Thursday, September 29 from Scared Heart Roman Catholic Church, Spiritwood, SK with Reverend Father Dong Doan as Celebrant. Interment took place at the Spiritwood Cemetery.
Remember her with a smile!
Footprints
One night I dreamed a dream.
I was walking along the beach
with my Lord.
Across the dark sky flashed
scenes from my life.
For each scene, I noticed two sets
of footprints in the sand,
one belonging to me,
and one to my Lord.
When the last scene of my life
shot before me
I looked back at the footprints
in the sand.
There was only one set of footprints.
I realized that this was the lowest
and saddest times of my life.
This always bothered me,
and I questioned the Lord
about my dilemma.
"Lord, You told me
when I decided to follow You,
You would walk and talk with me
all the way.
But I'm aware that during
the most troublesome
time of my life there is only
one set of footprints,
I just don't understand why,
when I needed You most,
You leave me."
He whispered, "My precious child,
I love you and will never leave you
never, ever,
during your trials and testings.
When you saw only one set of footprints
it was then that I carried you."
