Julia Whitford Albert

Julia is lovingly remembered by her sister Mathilda Whitford; Sons Eugene “Peanuts” (Shirley), Walter, Ross (Lulu), Brian (Norma), Ray (Esther) and Willie (Alison); Daughters Alvina (Bill) and Shirley (Eldon); her blessed and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces Liz Myo, Madeline Albert and Lucille Eagleshield; nephews Robert Myo, Rod Albert, Eli and Wilbert Whitford; as well as numerous relatives and friends.

Julia is predeceased by her loving husband Solomon Henry Albert; children Clara, Burton, Douglas and Collin, and a daughter in infancy; parents John Louis Whitford and Nancy Whitford; brothers Leo, Phillip, Jack and Jimmy; sister Jenny Albert (Whitford); and two older sisters who passed away during the flu epidemic of the early 1920’s in the Cypress Hills area.

The Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, March 29th 2016 from the Sweetgrass Community Centre, Sweetgrass First Nation, SK with Band Elders and Pastor Brian Arcand Officiating the Sacred Pipe. Active Pallbearers were: Jeremy Albert, Cody Albert, Shawn Albert, Tyler Fineday, Ceejay Albert, Irvin Buffalo, Ira “Scotty” Albert, and Colin Smallboy. Interment took place at the Sweetgrass Roman Catholic Cemetery.
