It is with profound sorrow and love that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, Summer Skye-Dove Atcheynum who left us far too soon on November 10, 2025 at the age of 24. Summer was born on September 12, 2001, in North Battleford and passed away at her family home in Sweetgrass First Nation. Summer will be forever loved and deeply missed by her two precious sons, Oziah and Mahkoa, who were the light of her life. She is also survived by her parents, Darwin and Kim Atcheynum; her brothers Darnell (Char) Atcheynum, Oscar (Crystal) Atcheynum, Audi (Kristen) Atcheynum, and Josh (Tash) Atcheynum; her special friend Adam Semaganis; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were touched by her kindness and laughter. She was predeceased by her, Kokum Lorette Bitz, Aunt Verna Whitford, Uncle Roy Atcheynum, Aunt Diane Atcheynum and her paternal grandparents Ben and Bernadette Atcheynum. Summer had a beautiful and gentle spirit that radiated love and light to everyone around her. Her smile could brighten the darkest day, and her compassion for others knew no bounds. She was an excellent listener and helped many people through her kindness and understanding. She found peace and joy in painting, caring for her animals, and helping those in need. Summer also faced challenges with mental health and the illness of addiction. She fought bravely, but this illness took her from us too soon. She will always be remembered for her strength, her warmth, and the way she made others feel seen and cared for. Though her time with us was brief, Summer’s love, light, and creativity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
