

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth “Jean” Parker Grillo; sons Paul Jerome Grillo and Mark Eric Grillo (Darlene); daughters Jean Scheppler (Joel), Pauline Margaret McBee (David), and Susan Marie Bruski (Ed) and was a dear Pop-Pop to many grands and great grands.
He is preceded in death by his son Gregory August Grillo.
Gus enlisted in the Army, Navy, and finally Air Force serving his country proudly for 22 years. He continued in a career as a civil service employee at Charleston AFB retiring after 15 years. Never sitting idle, his interests included woodworking, motorcycling, and playing darts until a debilitating motorcycle accident in 2003. Gus was a former member of The American Legion Charleston Post 179 active in the American Legion Riders.
A visitation service will be held for Augustus at Carolina Memorial Funeral home 7113 Rivers Avenue North Charleston, South Carolina 29406 on Monday December 13th at 12:30 p.m., a Chapel Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. with a burial to follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens.
