Betty Jean Burt

Betty was born on August 30, 1942 in Miami, Florida to the late Lloyd A. Whittenberg and Nettie Mae Lawhorn Whittenberg.

Betty enjoyed her church where she enjoyed singing in the choir, directing children's music and teaching Sunday School. She played hand bells and was a church soloist. Betty fought Parkinson's Disease for the last 2 years.

Surviving in addition to her loving husband of 59 years, Charles, are sons, Christopher Burt and wife Aidee and Jeffrey Burt and wife Wendy; daughter, Veronica Burt; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Rhodes.

Friends and relatives are invited to the visitation that will be from 1:00pm until 2:00pm on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Carolina Memorial Park, Funerals & Cremation located at 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406. 843-797-2222. The funeral service will follow immediately at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be at Carolina Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Doorway Baptist Church Building Fund, 7825 Dorchester Rd, North Charleston, SC 29418.
