
Carl John Hall (CJ) of Moncks Corner, husband of Candace Douan Hall, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017, at his home, in the arms of his family. Carl was born on September 19, 1939, in Toombs County, GA, son of the late Carl Dewey Hall and Ruby Joyner Hall. He graduated from Lyons Highschool in 1957 and moved to Savannah, GA, where he worked at Union Bag and became a pipefitter. He moved to North Charleston in 1965 where he met and married Candace Douan. He worked at Mead-Westvaco as a pipefitter and retired after 36 years. He loved Drag Racing and raced his 55 Chevy "Quick Silver" at the Walterboro Drag Strip in the 60s, then his 58 Corvette at Cooper River Dragway and was later crew chief for his son, David. He is survived by his wife of 51 years; two daughters and two sons: Carl Daniel Hall (Debbie) of Cookeville, TN, John David Hall, Susan Marie Wise of Rincon, GA, and Michelle Hall Altman (Sean) of Ridgeland, SC; two grandchildren, Joshua Wise and Corey Hall; one brother and two sisters; Bobby Lee Hall of Richmond Hill, GA, Geraldine Taylor of Lyons, GA, Betty McClain of Lyons, GA, and his best friend, Clyde Scott. He was predeceased by one brother; Raymond Hall. A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, March 8, at 11am in Carolina Memorial Park in North Charleston.
