Mom - there are so many things that I want to say but most importantly, I love you! You were a great example on so many different levels from your compassion to your work ethic. I miss you so much. So many times I want to pick up the phone to call you just to have a conversation. It wouldn't matter to me if you asked me the same question a hundred times, I'd be more than happy to answer it that many. I have one of the voicemails that you left me and I play it often. It's a little piece from you that I just didn't ever delete. Now I know why. I'm glad that you're at peace now though but I'll miss you tremendously until I see you again!! I love you Mom!!!

I come back to this page from time to time to make myself even more sad than I already am, I guess, and I hope that every time I come here I’ll see that someone has left you a message, but no one has. So I guess I’ll do it. I have this irrational fear that wherever you are, you can only see this empty page. And based on the fact that there aren’t any messages, maybe you think that no one loves you or misses you. So just in case that’s the way it worked out, I want youbto see this: mom, we - your children - all love you. We each had our own relationships with you. I can only speak on ours. You were everything to me. I’m gonna miss a lot about you, but I’m gonna miss hearing you laugh and seeing you smile. When you smiled, everything felt right with the world. And I worry that without your smile, I’m never going to fully feel okay again. I love you mom. So much. Everyone loved you so much. I think all of us are wishing we had done a better job of showing it to you. I will think of you always and forever. And I will see you in every act of kindness, every smiling face, and every light that guides my way. You were the embodiment of love, mom. I’ll never ever stop loving and missing you.

We’ve had so many dogs over the years, but Weston has been a fun and colorful one. He loves and misses you so much. And you were right - I was wrong: you were definitely his mama. The pain and sadness I see in his eyes every day - I see it in mine too. It’s the kind of sorrow you only feel when you’ve lost your mom. We’re both feeling it together.

I don’t remember this photo being taken, but I know that’s me and that’s my mama, looking at me like I’m her whole world. The feeling was mutual.
