

David was born on December 7, 1946 to the late Wellings James Blackmon and Rebecca Moseley Blackmon in Charleston, SC. David owned and operated Americana Motor Lodge in North Charleston, SC with his father. After an auto accident in 1985, he chose to retire. He had strong hands and could fix anything. He was always there for family and ready to help in a heartbeat with projects. David enjoyed singing karaoke and playing pool at Elks Lodge 2840 in Little River, SC. After moving to “a warm place” in Titusville, Florida he joined the Fraternal Order of Eagles and American Legion Post 1. His bucket list was complete after our trip to California by wagon train of 4 RVs with his family.
He will be deeply missed by his loving family; wife, Bonnie; children, David Brian, Debbie Lea, and Claire Echo, Papa to David Beau, Lauren Ashley, Logan Ansley, and Evan Riley. Great Papa to Beckham Wade, Sadie-Rose Livingston and Thomas Cummings; son to Rosa Lee ,brother to Rebecca Leona, Meryl Renee, and many cousins.
David is predeceased by his sister Kitty, and his grandson, Wade Brian.

Friends are invited to attend David’s visitation on Monday, August 16, from 6pm to 8pm at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home 7113 Rivers Ave. N. Charleston, SC. His Celebration of life Service will be held Tuesday, August 17, at 2:00 PM. Interment to follow in Carolina Memorial Park.
