

Dorothy Roberson Thornhill, 89, of Hanahan, SC, passed away peacefully at home, Friday, March 21, 2025, surrounded by her family. Her Celebration of Life will be graveside at 2pm on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Carolina Memorial Gardens, N. Charleston, SC. Visitation with the family will follow after the service. Arrangements provided by Carolina Memorial Funeral Home.
Dot was born December 9, 1935, in Olanta, SC, daughter of the late Mack Roberson and late Gertrude Dennis Roberson. She retired from Sears Northwoods as Assistant Store Manager. She was an avid gardener, serving as President of the Berkeley Hills Garden Club in Hanahan and in her retirement years, took up an interest in painting which she thoroughly enjoyed. She was Grandma and Mema to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and to their friends. She loved to travel with the love of her life, Tommy, all around the country and ended their long travel journeys in Egypt for a year. She participated in all outdoor adventures that her family wanted to do. She loved her family and took advantage of all that life had to offer in sharing every experience she could with them. Loving on her family was her favorite thing to do.
She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Huff of Greeleyville, and Joan Quinn (Doug) of Hanahan; five grandchildren: Jeremy (Catia) Quinn, Nicholas Quinn, Kit (Jes) Giles, Christopher Giles, Chris Huff; four great-grandchildren: Connor Quinn, Kinsley Giles, Brody Giles, Payton McMillan; one sister, Annette Griffin and two brothers, Leggette Roberson and Mack Roberson and many extended family. She is predeceased by her husband, Tommy, brothers Charlie Roberson, Allen Roberson, Donald Roberson; son-in-law, Daniel Huff and granddaughter, Heather Huff.
Dot loved her flowers or donations can be made to Kay Phillips Child Advocacy Center and Highland Park Baptist Church, Hanahan, SC.
