Genevieve Jones

The relatives and friends of Genevieve “Janie” Carroll Jones, wife of John Ray Jones of North Charleston, SC are invited to attend her Funeral service on Saturday July 23, 2022 at 12:00 P.M. at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from the hour of 11:00 A.M. until the time of service on Saturday. Committal and burial services will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens.

Janie was born to the late Jesse Ernest and Sue Winn Carroll on March 2, 1941 in Meggett, South Carolina. She is a member of Doorway Baptist Church and retired from Heritage Trust Federal Credit Union. Janie is a former Foxette of the Omar Shrine Swamp Fox unit. She loved to work in her flower gardens and had an extensive collection of Christmas decorations that brought her so much joy to display each year.

She is survived by her three daughters, Renee Jones Brunson “ Ellis“ of North Charleston, Denise Jones Tompkins of North Charleston and Celeste Jones Cockcroft “Wade“ of Mount Pleasant ; two grandchildren Morgan and Kevin Cockcroft of Mount Pleasant.

She was preceded in death by her husband John Ray Jones, granddaughter Kaela Cockcroft and eight siblings.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations should be made to the Charleston Animal Society, 2455 Remount Road, North Charleston S.C. 29406.
