

Mr. Harold (Jim) James Wolbert, a beloved resident of Summerville, SC, passed away at the age of 79. He was born on April 3, 1944, in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Howard and Estelle Wolbert. On September 10, 2023, Mr. Wolbert left this world, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love.
Mr. Wolbert is survived by his devoted and adoring wife of 50 years, Jean Wolbert, who always stood by his side. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared experiences. He will be deeply missed by his daughter Christina, son Howard, his brother Rick, and sister Peggy. Mr. Wolbert's passing also leaves a void in the hearts of his grandchildren, and his extended family and friends.
After a distinguished military career, Mr. Wolbert retired as a First Class Sergeant from the United States Army in 1984. Throughout his service, he exemplified the traits of honor, courage, and dedication. His commitment to his country was unwavering, and he leaves behind a legacy of patriotism that will inspire future generations.
Apart from his military achievements, Mr. Wolbert was an accomplished master mason and held the esteemed 32nd degree of the Scottish Rite. His dedication to the Masonic fraternity was a testament to his commitment to principles of brotherhood, charity, and self-improvement.
Outside of his professional and fraternal pursuits, Mr. Wolbert had a zest for life. He had a passion for cars, guns, and fishing, indulging in these hobbies whenever he had the opportunity. His enthusiasm was contagious, and he often shared his interests with those around him creating lifelong bonds. Jim was known to have a delightful sense of humor that brought joy and laughter to those around him. He possessed a quick wit and a talent for light hearted banter, brightening the days of family, friends, and acquaintances with his playful jokes and infectious laughter.
Mr. Wolbert was also a true romantic at heart. He believed in the power of love and demonstrated his affection through thoughtful gestures and acts of kindness. His adoration for his beloved wife, Jean, was evident in the way he looked at her with admiration and tenderness. Their enduring love story was an inspiration to all who knew them, reminding us of the beauty and strength that can be found in a lifelong partnership.
Above all, Mr. Wolbert was a family man. He treasured the time spent with his loved ones, creating a warm and loving home for his wife and children. His love and devotion were evident in every aspect of his life, and his family was the center of his universe. He leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories that will forever be cherished.
While his physical presence may be gone, his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Friends, family, and acquaintances are invited to join in remembrance and pay their final respects at the
visitation held at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home for Howard, on Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A celebration of life at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel will follow from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The burial will take place thereafter at Carolina Memorial Gardens with full military honors. A reception will be held after the completion of the services at the VFW, located at 10154 Bell Wright Rd, Summerville, SC 29483.
