James "Pete" Johnson

James Peter "Pete" Johnson, 71, of Summerville, husband of Deborah Johnson, passed away November 20, 2018. He was born in Somerville, MA , a son of the late Robert R. Johnson and Ellen M. Gibler Johnson.

Pete was a proud veteran of the United States Navy retiring after serving 21 years. Pete was an active member of the American Legion Riders, where he served as Assistant Director for Post 166 of Goose Creek, SC.

Pete enjoyed riding his motorcycle, helping people and watching TV, he also loved his family.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Debbie Johnson, daughters: Vickie McKeever (Paul), and Heather McAbee (Chad), grandsons: Justin Johnson, Paul A. McKeever, granddaughters: Jessica McKeever, Madison Beaudrot, and great grandson: Grayson , his sister: Sandy Logan , sisters and brothers in law: Mickey Mueller (Richard), Diane Reynolds (Buddy), Judy Hatchell , Helen Geist (Fred) and Sharon Sease. and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father James R. Johnson, mother: Ellen Haworth, step dad, Roy Haworth, brother Robert Johnson, sister in law Donna Widener, and brother in law Danny Hatchell.

A celebration of life service will be held for James on Sunday, November25, 2018 at 12 noon at CAROLINA MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday from 11 am to 12 noon at the funeral home.
