Joan Brong Johnston Lee Of North Charleston, passed away on Wednesday, August 05, 2015, in Montgomery, AL. She was predeceased by her husband, Franklin Lee in 2004.Funeral Services will be held on Saturday August 8 at Carolina Memorial Chapel Starting at 10:00 am, with burial to follow in Carolina Memorial Park,with Vistation on Friday August 7th at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Ave. North Charleston , SC Starting from 6 - 8 pm. She is survived by her daughter, Andrea Hatcher of Montgomery, AL, and her husband Tony, and son, Kevin Lee of Kennesaw, GA, and his wife Brandi. Also grandsons: Matt Hatcher, of Huntsville, AL; Dan Hatcher of Durham, NC, and wife Alex; and Thomas Hatcher of Montgomery, AL. Mrs.Lee was born on April 25, 1934 in Waynesboro, PA, to Charles and Ruth Johnston, both deceased. She graduated from Shippensburg State Teacher’s College. She taught elementary school in Michigan, Delaware and Texas. After her children grew older she went back to teaching as a teachers aid in North Charleston and New York, and retired from the Charleston County School System in 1995. She was a member of Midland Park United Methodist Church for over 36 years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Midland Park Methodist Church at 2301 Midland Park Road, North Charleston, SC 29406.
