

John H Wade SUMMERVILLE - John Henry (Johnny) Wade, 77, of Summerville, SC passed away at his home on Thursday, August 20, 2015. He was born December 28, 1937, in Marianna, FL. Johnny was a member of Carnes Cross Road Church of God. He attended Chicora High School. He was drafted into the US Army after high school. When he finished with the Army, he worked odd jobs before he was hired by the Charleston Naval Shipyard. At CNSYD, he became a subject matter expert in his field of Radiological Control (RADCON Code 105.3) until his retirement in 1995 after more than 30 years of federal service. He loved fishing, watching all types of sports and western tv shows and movies in addition to helping others. Over a span of 20 years coaching baseball and football, he mentored hundreds of young men to become outstanding players. He was a wonderful, beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend. He is survived by his daughter, K Carla Wade, of Fayetteville, NC; his son, John Gregory Wade (Cheri), of North Charleston, SC; his 6 grandchildren, Elizabeth (John) Burnett, Courtney Austin, Zack Austin, Emilee Wade, Jackson Wade and Jamey Wade; 4 great grandchildren, Caleb Burnett, Johnathan Burnett, Eloise Burnett and Sara Davies; his two sisters, Becky Clements of Goose Creek, SC and Ida (Don) Risher of North Charleston, SC; a sister in law, Letha Waid of North Charleston, SC; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Montree D. Wade and Bessie J. Wade and brothers Sim J. Waid, Sr, Billy Wade, and Buck Wade in addition to sisters Louise Riley, Eunice Polifka and Annette Beatty. The funeral services will be private.
