

Lloyd Winston Irvan of Goose Creek, South Carolina passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at the age of 81. He was born on January 29, 1942, in Lynchburg, Virginia where he grew up. He graduated from E.C. Glass High School in 1960. He went into the United States Air Force where he served as a military cop for four years. After an honorable discharge, Winston went to work for the U.S. Postal Service as a clerk where he eventually retired with full benefits. Winston was actively involved in his church as a faithful member and deacon for many years. All who knew Winston knew that he loved the Lord, his country, his family, and his friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Lloyd Guy Irvan and Edith Reynolds Irvan, infant daughter Stephanie Anissa Irvan, brother John Wayne Irvan, sisters Doris Thompson (Carroll), Sue Irvan, Ailette Pollard, and niece Heather Pollard. He is survived by his wife Arnette Owens Irvan, son Robert Irvan, daughter Christina Chapman (Bobby), grandchildren Nicholas Lowens, Mallory Irvan, Tyler Irvan, Caroline Beasley (Brent), Rebecca McNear (Ross), Sarah Chapman, Matthew Chapman, Rachel Chapman, great-grandson Daniel, and three siblings Donnie Irvan, Ernie Irvan, and Brenda Irvan.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Charleston and The Veteran’s Victory House of Walterboro for the care and compassion they showed Winston in his final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service in his honor at Carolina Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at 2 p.m. Visitation with the family will begin at 1 p.m. at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home located at 7113 Rivers Ave North Charleston, SC 29406. Interment to follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens.
